CONTEMPORARY INDIAN ARTIST NILAOYY K NANDI TO EXHIBIT HIS WORK AT THE TD FESTIVAL OF SOUTH ASIA

He has worked with a variety of media – painting in oil, acrylic and watercolour. His exhibitions throughout world have garnered rave reviews. Popular contemporary Indian artist is all set to showcase his latest creations titled 'Oneness' at the 14^th Annual TD Festival of South Asia.

 

A fine arts graduate from MS University, Vadodara, Nandi, who was born and brought up in Assam, has worked as a graphic designer at an advertising agency and has assisted well-known art director Bijon Dasgupta before turning a full-time painter.

 

'Oneness', is Nandi's visual interpretation of the transcendental journey through the practice of Yoga. Caught up in isms and philosophies of every day, Nandi hopes his creation will inspire people to find the true purpose of their life.

 

"Yoga is a wonderful process, the only technique which is 5,000 years old and has the capacity to take you from small mind to the big mind. Yoga helps us to expand our individual being to infinite consciousness. The journey one can only experience through the various facets of this beautiful technique. It is like a song in silence, in celebration of our creation. In our world, uncountable lives have been living for millions of years and will continue to do so. This is an infinite cycle. Life and death are for the body, but the soul remains as is."

 

The longest running outdoor South Asian festival in North America, the 14^th Annual TD Festival of South Asia, will take place at the Gerrard India Bazaar on Gerrard Street in Toronto on July 16 and 17^th, 2016 from noon until 11pm, with free admission for all.

 

This year, the festival, promises an exclusive line-up portraying the exclusive and ever-vibrant South Asian culture and heritage including a Rangoli competition, Literary & Visual Arts, concerts by famous South Asian artists as well as an amazing selection of mouth-watering South Asian food and drinks.
