What: ONE BOOK ONE BRAMPTON FREE PUBLIC LAUNCH EVENT
Where: Brampton City Hall Atrium - 1st Floor, 2 Wellington Street West, Brampton L6Y 4R2
When: Thursday, February 16, 2017: 11:30 am - 1:30 pm
Who: Speakers: Mayor Linda Jeffrey; Brampton Library CEO Rebecca Raven; FOLD Artistic Director Jael Richardson
Why: To celebrate the One Book One Brampton Shortlist and hear the results of the public vote to decide the winner.

Everyone is invited to a free event at Brampton City Hall to celebrate the One One Book One Brampton Shortlist in the Brampton City Hall Atrium.

Review and purchase the four shortlisted books, hear about the shortlisted authors writing process and find out the winner, determined by public vote! 

Enjoy free refreshments and celebrate the book that all Brampton residents are invited to read and discuss together.

The shortlist is:
  • The Juggler's Children: A Journey into Family, Legend, and the Genes that Bind Us by Carolyn Abraham
  • Fifteen Dogs by Andre Alexis
  • Six Metres of Pavement by Farzana Doctor
  • The Amazing Absorbing Boy by Rabindranath Maharaj
Special thanks to Nancy Frater, owner of Booklore Bookstore in Orangeville, for selling all four shortlisted books, and the following community groups for their displays connected to some of the books' themes: The FOLD/Festival of Literary Diversity, Animal Services, Spectra, and Library Settlement Partnership workers.
